DAY 02
NAIROBI
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning drive to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya's finest
and best known game reserve. This journey takes you through
the Great Rift Valley View Point where you will have a stop
over for a photographic session. Descend to the floor of the
Rift Valley and continue driving towards The Maasai Mara.
Lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. Afternoon game viewing drive. The
greatest attraction in the Mara is watching the animals in
their natural element; a lion's roar, a cheetah making a kill,
and the big elephant herds are all very fascinating events.
This is the traditional land of the Maasai people, nomadic
herders who choose a traditional lifestyle and who are permitted
to graze their cattle in the area. A proud and largely aloof
tribe who have held on to their customs and traditions for
hundreds of years. The park's habitats include the forests
along the banks of the Mara and Talek Rivers, acacia forests
and open savannah. Dinner and
overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

MASAI MARA
You will be woken up this morning to
a lovely African sunrise and at the lobby coffee, tea and
cookies will be ready for you. Drive off to another adventurous
safari drive in search of wild animals. The early mornings
and evenings are the best times to watch the big cats hunt
- the lion, the cheetah and the leopard. At these times the
most glorious sunrises and sunsets are observed. Return to
the lodge for a full buffet breakfast. Morning at leisure.
Lunch will be served in the restaurant after which you will
have time to rest before the evening safari. Afternoon game
viewing drive in search of more wildlife including the "big
five" The big five are the lion, leopard, rhino, elephant
and the buffalo. After the game drive you will be driven back

DAY 04
MASAI MARA - LAKE NAKURU
NATIONAL PARK
Buffet breakfast at
the lodge. Morning drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake
Nakuru is one of the alkaline Rift Valley lakes and a fantastic
bird sanctuary, its shores populated at times by more than
one million flamingoes. The famous ornithologist Roger Tory
Peterson defined it as "the greatest bird spectacle on earth".
The fortunate sentence has now become a cliché and is used
up to fed-up-ism for promotional purposes. This is the second
most accessible park, since Nakuru is the fourth city in the
country and the head town of the Rift Valley. Lunch at Lake
Nakuru Lodge. Afternoon game viewing drive in the park. This
is Kenya's first rhino sanctuary. The Rothschild giraffes
have also been rehabilitated here at a time that they were
endangered. You are almost certain to see the most elusive
of the cats family, the leopard. Dinner and overnight at Lake
Nakuru Lodge.

DAY 05
LAKE NAKURU - ABERDARES
NATIONAL PARK
Buffet breakfast at the lodge. Drive off
to the Aberdare ranges. The drive is very scenic and offers
memorable photo opportunities. The Aberdare's are the third
highest range of mountains in Kenya, reaching a summit of just
over 4000m. This massive range is well known for its thick salient
forests, and their prolific game. It is an important water catchments
area and indeed throughout most of the year it gets rain and
mist. Lunch at the Aberdare Country Club. After lunch you will
be transferred in hotel vehicles to the Ark. Afternoon tea and
coffee at a tree hotel. The Ark is set in thick woodland at
the heart of the Aberdare National Park and is designed with
numerous viewing decks, balconies and lounges that allow you
to watch animals visiting the waterhole and salt lick. A ground
level viewing area provides excellent photographic opportunities
and a floodlit waterhole allows all-night game viewing. Dinner
and overnight at The Ark Lodge. (Note : Only small overnight
bags are allowed at Tree Hotels. Other luggage will be stored
at base hotels. Children under 7 yrs of age are not allowed
